To understand how such a massive conflict erupted, we’re breaking down the M.A.I.N. causes—Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism. Each of these forces shaped the world in the early 1900s, and together they created a powder keg just waiting for a spark.

We’re also sharpening our critical thinking skills by analyzing political cartoons from the era. These cartoons are more than just drawings—they’re snapshots of public opinion, symbolism, and political messaging from the time. You’ll learn how to decode the imagery, identify the message, and connect it back to the M.A.I.N. causes.
